Although I’ve seen Old Faithful in Yellowstone, I didn’t know much about geysers. Until we went to Iceland in May, I didn’t know that the English word”geyser” comes from the name, Geysir, of a giant geyser in Iceland. “Geysir” as a name comes from the Icelandic word meaning “to gush”. Once the strings stopped coming down
Our weather recently here in Tübingen has been really bizarre. Last night we had a storm that lasted for hours, starting around 10pm. The thunder wasn’t really thunder – it was more like a plane flying overhead had just stalled there and was endlessly rumbling and rolling. There were light flashes all over sky, just continuing one after the other. Continue reading
