Keeping up with Richard III is getting to be a full-time job this week with all the hullabaloo about his reinternment. Luckily, you’ve got me as your clipping service for providing you with links to the latest news:
- The procession coverage from Sunday (this is repeated if you read my earlier post)
- The actual funeral coverage from today, including that Sherlock actor again:
And so after 500 years, Richard III has finally had a state funeral and been properly laid to rest at long last. The events of the past couple of years have definitely made Shakespeare’s scripted speech for Richard no longer apply:
I shall despair. There is no creature loves me;
And if I die, no soul will pity me:
Nay, wherefore should they, since that I myself
Find in myself no pity to myself?
