Second try at an homage to Imogen

Today we have a few more of my experiments with photos of leaves and shadows. As I mentioned in last month, I’ve been inspired by Imogen Cunningham and many of her works. But probably my favorite photo of hers continues to be her Leaf Pattern work (click to open her photo in a different window).

Last month I posted some of my first attempts that were taken while deliberately exploring this style. Since then, on and off when there’s been enough sun, and when I’ve found some leaves that are broad enough to some cast interesting shadows, I’ve been trying to see if I could get a little closer to her vision. I’m not quite there yet.

However, I think I’m starting to find something interesting with these leaves and shadows that is becoming my vision for leaves and shadows.

See what you think.

  1. This picture is just gorgeous and I think the impressive part are the veins in the leaf shadow. There is even a little spooky the spider quality to it!
