Today was a very cold day here by Tübingen standards. The high wasn’t supposed to be above 0º Celsius/32º Fahrenheit. It felt even colder walking around, that’s for sure.
To mark the occasion, although really apropos of nothing, I have two photos to illustrate opposing ideas of temperatures. One is from the Esslingen Christmas Market that we went to last year on a similarly cold day. The Friendly Tourist is seen warming his hands by a fire.
The other photo is one I snapped here in Tübingen on Saturday, of a cute little snow man. I call him the “littlest” snowman – note that his cap seems to be a tiny frying pan turned upside down.
The two pictures aren’t quite “fire” and “ice”. But still, they illustrate a certain spectrum of hot and cold.
Enjoy – and hope you can stay warm, wherever you are.

cool. that friendly tourist looks like Mephistopheles carefully monitoring his realm.
Thanks, Kathy. Yes, that is a interesting “pose” (he actually didn’t know I was taking the photo.)
