Randomly Roaming in York

Today, October 3, is a holiday here in Germany: it’s the official day that celebrates the reunification of East and West Germany, back in 1990.

I bring that up as my excuse for not getting a proper blog post written.  I kept thinking it was the weekend, and therefore never wrote a blog post, since I don’t write them on the weekends.

But, in fact, it is of course only Wednesday. Ah well.

But, as I scrambled late in the day to put together a blog post for a Wednesday, I realized this was the perfect opportunity to post a few random photos from our trip to York last month. These are photos that weren’t going to fit into any theme I had planned for other photos from that trip. So, it turns out it’s a win-win situation, as they used to say years ago in the software biz.

Enjoy. 😉

  1. The good things are that the river picture is scenic and the tunnel picture is eery. But I like the wall picture the best because of the composition of the wall cutting across the picture with but a slender thread reaching the far side. I like the marching ramparts down the wall at an angle and the square shapes of the few ramparts we see head on as they go to the edge of the photo.
