As I’m sitting here munching on some Magenbrot, literally “stomach bread” — a Christmas cookie that’s nothing like the name implies— I’m sorting my photos from this past weekend’s Christmas market here in Tübingen. And I realize that I’m not going to finish doing that tonight.
So, instead I’ll offer two recent takes on the theme of trees. I took this one while waiting at the bus station in Tübingen on Saturday:

I know, you’re amazed I actually didn’t take a photo of a reflection of a tree, right? Well, never fear, I’ve got one of those too. Actually, a reflection of many trees:

Yes, that’s the reflection you’re seeing at the top. By flipping the photo upside-down, the “real” trees start to look like the roots of the reflected trees.
I like it.
Anyway, tune in tomorrow for at least a few photos of the Christmas market. At the very least, I’ll have my photos of those Magenbrot ready… not to worry, I took some photos of them before we started munching on them… 😉
Love trees they are so neat. a guy from Japan said some of my drawings of them look like Japanese letters and look at your photo and tell me what it says in Japanese???
I like your idea of turning the picture upside down and looking at the roots. Clever.
@Kathy: Thanks! As to your question, well, I speak a little bit of German, a little bit of Italian, and on a good day also a little bit of English. I’m afraid I can’t translate what the trees are saying Japanese, though. 😉
