Well, specifically it’s really variations on a photo of a swan in Neckar River. I don’t know why there are swans that hang out on the Neckar River, but there are. However, only occasionally are they in the part on the side of the bridge where I’m standing to take my photos.
So, the other day I was pleased to find a swan in range of my camera. However, when I looked at the photos, the scene seemed a bit surreal – almost like a painting, I think. At least that’s what it looks like to me, where the swan has been “added” to the river. Of course, it was really there, as evidenced by the reflection of the swan in the river. But still. See what you think – I played with the light and contrast on the computer, which only seemed to enhance that “painting-like” feeling, IMHO.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that. 😉
#2 has an aura look to the swan. I love the abstract background and would not believe it was water if you didn’t tell me because of the unusual color and lovely images.
I agree. No 2 reminds me a little of a Monet. The tinge of pink really sets it off.
I like the water in the middle one, but the swan’s glowing a bit too much for my liking. You could try masking the swan and applying different adjustments to the swan and background.
Thanks for all the feedback. I like the water in #2 the best, but have gone back and forth on liking the glowing swan. Ashley, that’s a good suggeston, maybe I’ll play a little with that; when I did try to tone down the white part of the swan another way, it took out the entire “glow” to the swan. I always find it fascinating how much an image can be changed with just a setting or two.
Just like a Monet impressionistic painting. Lovely.
