Stella!

Happy January 6th! It’s a holiday here in Germany, so just a short post today, since I’m technically on vacation. 😉

In Verona at Christmas time, they put up a big white metal star (to borrow a phrase from a friend) that flies out of L’Arena, the Roman Amphitheatre. The star is really called the Stella Cometa – you might have spotted the top curve of it in yesterday’s photos, as the fireworks were just above it from my vantage point when taking the photos.

Anyway, I always love to take photos of it. Here are a few quick ones off my camera, taken both at night and during the day. One of them is even a reflection. 🙂

Note that the photos above work like the fireworks photos from yesterday: click on one and you’ll see a carousel with larger versions of them all.

I’ll be back to a regular schedule on Monday – see you then!

Technical note about this new carousel interface that WordPress provides for me to use: As Kathy noted in her comment yesterday, clicking the “Permalink” link from the carousel display will get you to a page where you can see just one larger image at a time. However, this image page replaces the blog post page in your browser window. To get back to the blog post from that page, click on the title of the blog post (in this case, Stella!) just above the image on that page.
