Due to technical problems with our internet connection at home today, my planned post about Gaudí has been delayed. Instead, I can offer a panorama I took the other day of Tübingen, which I was saving for a rainy day (so to speak). It actually is a rainy day today, but I don’t think that has anything to do with the internet problems we’re having.
Anyway, the photo is the kind of subject matter that should be fit for a postcard – except I think I’d have to redo it on a sunnier day, since I’m not sure a tourist would really approve of a cloudy card. 😉 I did try playing around with the settings, so there are 3 variations to choose from below.
Anyway, from this perspective you see all of the old city section in front of you, spanning from the big Stiftskirche (St. George’s Collegiate Church) on the left, to the castle on the right. Our building is hidden in middle of the houses in the left foreground.

The office for our internet provider told me that our technical issues are supposed to be worked on tomorrow morning. We’ll hold out hope that means fixed tomorrow morning, too. Stay tuned.
they are neat pics. I like the BW. Neat clouds
The B&W photo seems to be sharper and Kathy is right about the clouds. They are so interesting.
Thanks. The BW does seem sharper, I think the color ones seem a little “soft”. I guess I could tweak the constrast more on the colors, since that’s what I did after I dropped the colors out of the original to make the B&W version. The cloud patterns are all there in the original (color), but they really pop out at you in the B&W.
I like number one best–modest colored red roofs and the striking building on the hlll. Is it a castle or part of a castle? I like a panorama, it has lots of breadth.
