Today on Food on Fridays, in honor of today being Halloween, we take a look at spiders, their webs, and their dinner. If you don’t like spiders, don’t read any further, as there are photos of spiders below.
At 650
Today’s marks the 650th post on the Two to TÜ blog. That sounds like a lot, except when I consider I did over 800 posts on the 22BZ blog back in Bolzano, in about the same amount of time. I’d like to think that I’ve gotten more deliberate about my blogging. But in fact I think it’s just that when we travel nowadays, I’m not as ambitious as I once was to queue up posts in advance or to blog from the road. 😉
Room Service
October wasn’t supposed to be like this. Chris’ contract at the University of Tübingen ended, as planned, on September 30th. No, we don’t know what we’re going to do next, but we have a visa to stay in Germany for the next 6 months while we figure it out. But that’s not what this post is about. Continue reading
Food on Fridays: Just the Pommes, Please
In the U.S. there’s a saying “Do you want fries with that?” which comes from ordering burgers in fast food restaurants. At least, I’m guessing that’s where that saying comes from – I will confess to not having bothered to look that up today. Continue reading
The view from the Pont de l’Archevêché
Yesterday I posted a photo of the “locks of love” that I took by chance on the Pont de l’Archevêché. You see, we hadn’t known ahead of time that there were locks of love there. However, we had realized as we were walking along the Seine that day that you get a great view of a famous Paris landmark if you stand on – or near – the Pont de l’Archevêché.
Les Cadenas de l’Amour
The title of this post is a rough translation for “locks of love” in French, as today we’ll look at the phenomenon of the lovers’ locks on bridges, Parisian-style.

Monday Mysteries: An Ampelmännchen avec une attitude
Today on Monday Mysteries we take a look at a style of a pedestrian crossing sign that we spotted in Paris, one that mysteriously seems to come with a bit of an attitude. Continue reading

Today on Food on Fridays we have another entry in my on-going “Doughnut Diaries” series of posts. Continue reading
Photos Based on Art
“Photo-Based Art” is where you start with a photo and then do something to it/with it to turn it into a different kind of art. Some of Chris’ digital artwork is of this type, where he will start with a photograph he’s taken, and then turn it into a different image using a computer program that’s written, etc. Continue reading
