Two years ago on the Two to BZ blog I used some photos I took on a beach in Florida and wrote a little fable, “The Heron and The Tortoise.” Over the past few days, I have been adding photos to my little story, and just this morning I “secretly” published the first version of it as an eBook. For readers of this blog, since you’re the only ones who have the secret link, it’s available as a free download for the rest of this week: Continue reading

A stretch of unexpectedly sunny weather on and off over the weekend offered a chance to wander around Tübingen to practice a little more with that double-exposure technique I mentioned on Friday. In some ways,

Seeing Double
This gallery contains 8 photos.
Typically I don’t do double-exposure photography of any type, neither ones created “in camera” nor ones created by combining photos later on the computer. However, our photography group here recently picked Double-Exposures as our theme for the next meeting. It’s … Continue reading
Waiting for the next Hard Rock Hallelujah
In the interest of completeness, I feel compelled to report that the eventual winner of the Eurovision competition a couple of weeks back was the song that went into the final as the favorite, the song from Denmark. Not my favorite, though. In fact, my rough notes taken during the final performances specifically mention how much I disliked both the singer and the song. But in those same notes I then went on to predict that the song would actually win. A view from on top
We went to Strasbourg, France this past weekend just to check it out – it’s only a few hours by train from Tübingen. The view referred to in today’s blog post title is the scene you see while standing on top of the Barrage Vauban (“Vauban weir”) in Strasbourg. It’s one of the standard “postcard” shots in Strasbourg. Continue reading
At 15 or 50
When you’re 15 and fantasize about having a chance to travel to see a bit of the world beyond New Jersey, you never think that by the time you’re 50 you will have had the opportunity to visit 25 different countries, let alone dream you’ll wind up living in 5 different countries before you turn 50.
