Another angle

When I posted that “standard” non-standard bridge photo last week, I didn’t have a chance to include another version of that photo that I actually like even better.

As I mentioned in the post, last week’s version of this bridge in Tübingen that I rarely take photos of was a photo auf dem Kopf stehen. Well, at least that’s the German way of saying it was turned upside down. Literally, the German expression means “to put on its head”.

But today’s variation put it in a new direction but turning it a mere 90 degress, creating what I find a somewhat surrealistic take on the scene. See what you think.

  1. If I imagine that ridge going upwards to the right and block off the top part of the picture, I can accept it. But the picture as a whole makes me feel discombobulated. I cannot detach myself from the normal view enough to enjoy the clash of lines.

  2. I left out a phrase at the beginning of my last comment. What I meant to say was: If I imagine that ridge going upwards to the right as a “rope bridge”…..

  3. Thanks, Stan, I see what you mean about it being a bit like the shape of a rope bridge. I guess for me the sense of not being quite able to figure out at first what it is adds to the interesting lines. 🙂
