The photos below are from a set I took on Saturday here in Tübingen. Chris and I wandered around what was for us some “uncharted territory” here in the old city center. I.e., we were on streets we’d never been on before, even though a couple were just a few blocks from our house.
We stumbled upon the back of the city museum, which is in a building that was built in the 1500s in the locally typical half-timber style.
But what caught my eye was that it appears we’re looking through the window in the building. However, we’re actually looking at a reflection of the sky behind me. We can see the clouds through (looking at) a reflection, and not through a window, if you will.
Pay particular attention to the cloud in the lower right-hand window pane. Do you see a face? I do. What do you think – is it friendly or sinister? You be the judge … but note that the rains started again soon after I took this photo. 😉
Both are arresting! The one of the right looks positively surreal. Add a mustache somewhere and enter it into competition!
