The Art of Snow

OK, maybe I should really call this post the art of making “artsy” snow photos. By “artsy” I simply mean that the photos today are of the snow storm over the weekend, but they are not a documentary record of the storm like yesterday’s photos were. Not intentionally, but things that happened to catch my eye while taking photos of the snow fell into these two categories: pretty snow photos that show Tübingen in the snow (yesterday’s set), and unexpectedly interesting photos that make something with snow the central theme – but it could have been anywhere.

See what you think.

  1. Touching on genius here. First couple remind me of Brancusi sculptures, albino ones. Then we have the Buddha’s lips. Then there are 5 layers. The last one reminds me of a close up of a ridge on the alps. Can you get more detail of at least one layer of the photos? It would be interesting to see how then over all proportions and textures read. Like this set a lot. Also reminds me of the White Painting or was it black paintings.. Probably both for r Rauschenberg.

  2. Thanks, Kathy, for all the feedback! For your question regarding the layers photos, do you mean that you want to see a photo of just one of the layers in more detail?
