Spring Swan

A month ago I snapped a colorful swan photo.

Well, OK, the swan isn’t the thing in color, of course. it’s the standard “postcard shot” reflection on the Neckar River that adds the color:

There was only one swan on that part of the river back on April 1st, when I took the photo. Today the weather was sunny and a bit warm, with tons of people sitting on the wall that runs along the back of the photo). There were at least a dozen swans collected along there, waiting for a handout, I guess. But a month ago, only one swan ventured to this spot, and so I immortalized him (her?) on camera.

The early swan gets in the photo, I guess, even if they didn’t find any tourists with food at that time.  I didn’t take photos of the dozens of swans today … they were moving about too much and messing up that reflection. Hmph. 😉

  1. This swan must love to pose since he looks so still. The photo brings to mind those places at the shore and/or amusement parks where you try to shoot the duck as it moves back and forth.

    Love these reflective photos.
