An uncharacteristically unphotogenic postcard shot

Hope all of you in the U.S. aren’t been too badly affected by the current spate of snow storms and cold weather the Northeastern region is currently having. We’ve been having lots of rain here, but thankfully no snow so far. However, Saturday night there was a huge rain storm that knocked down trees and made the river levels rise.

I know this not because I heard any of it, mind you — the storm hit while we were sleeping. But while we were walking around on Sunday, the evidence of the storm was rushing by on the Neckar River.  The speed with which the water was moving was really amazing.

Although I didn’t get my camera out quick enough to capture a shot of a full tree that came floating by the normal “postcard shot” position, I did at least manage to snap a “postcard shot” that shows the muddy and unusually high waters in the Neckar on Sunday.

See what you think.

  1. @Kathy, Good question. It’s probably new; I there’s always some there, but periodically they wash it off or paint over it. I know in at least one of my photos of this postcard shot in the past I have decided to remove the graffiti from that wall, but I didn’t take it out this time around.
