The last time we visited Bolzano, we stayed in a tiny vacation apartment down the block from where we’d lived. Our apartment had been rather old style, but this vacation apartment had been completely done in a different motif.

For example, the wall mural in the apartment itself was loosely based on a classical painting of Venus:

But it was in the hallway that was truly unique: each floor had a different sculpture  of a head of an animal mounted on the wall. However, the animals were of slightly different hues than normal:

This decor was just a little unexpected to find in the old city part of Bolzano.
