Scenes seen inside L’Arena

Over the years I’ve posted a bunch of photos of the outside of L’Arena (the Roman Amphitheater in Verona), but I rarely post photos taken inside.  My favorite time to go inside is in the winter, after they’ve taken away all the metal seating that is used for the opera audiences in the summer.  Then you get to see the original Roman marble seating – very nice.

In the gallery below are a few photos I took on our last trip to Verona in December. All the photos were taken inside L’Arena, but not all are presented exactly as taken. That’s true of several of them, including the one that shows the evidence of the heavy rainstorm the night before. 😉

  1. I really like the archway of steps. It’s shadows and shapes are simply captivating. The picture grabs me and clamors for my attention!
