It was cold in Hamburg last week, with mostly gray skies.
It also rained on a couple of the days we were there, and also snowed (briefly) one morning. So it was a little bit surprising to look at a photo I took on our last morning there and remember that on that particular morning, it was sunny with blue skies:
That’s a reflection of some buildings along the Isebekkanal (“Isebek Canal”), in the Eppendorf section of Hamburg.
BTW, when I look in Wikipedia to see what the name of that body of water was (it wasn’t marked on our paper map), I discovered that this section of town is known for being the “birthplace” of a German singing group called “Texas Lightning”. They sing country-western songs in English and were the Germany entry in Eurovision 2006, with the song No, No, Never. That’s neither here nor there, just another fun Eurovision fact to file away under my ongoing fascination for Eurovision. 😉
Anyway, our next reflection concerns buildings in Tübingen. We typically don’t get a lot of accumulation when it snows here in town; for example, the pavement doesn’t get covered in snow, even though the rooftops do. So, how do you find a new idea for a taking a photo of a slightly-snow-covered rooftop in Tübingen?
Simple. You put it in a puddle.
Enjoy.
