Against my better judgement I ordered this seasonally-flavored cappuccino in a chain-coffee shop in London. Normally a cappuccino is topped with a sprinkling of cinnamon. However, because I’d ordered the seasonal special, the barrista stopped himself from sprinkling cinnamon on top, and spent time hunting down a shaker with gold flakes and a stencil to create this gold Christmas tree on top of my coffee. Cute. I guess. But gold didn’t help the flavor of the drink, IMHO, although I don’t think it was entirely to blame for the terrible drink this turned out to be.
