The autumn that never was

It has seemed like autumn never truly arrived here in Tübingen this year. We had unseasonably warm weather for a while in September and October, and now it’s cold and dreary, feeling more like winter than anything else.

But a week or so ago when the sun was out, it finally felt more like a fall day. The leaves were mostly off the trees at that point. But at least as the leaves lay there on the ground, they provided a glimpse of the autumn colors that might have been.

Enjoy.

  1. I like the boat in the picture and the slices of light on the leaves. Nice.
However, am I the only one who doesn’t know what “Stockerkahn” refers to? Is it the boat?

  2. Thanks, Stan, glad you like the photo. The “Stockerkahn” is the punting boat that they use (for tourists) here in Tübingen. Usually I show it with people in it, with one “driver’ with a pole. This one is a bit different because it is empty, although I did do a photo of empty ones years ago. Here’s a link to some old posts about the Stockerkahn (“punting” boats): http://22tue.clfotonline.com/?s=punting&x=0&y=0
