Today on the blog we’re back in Iceland to visit the long-promised stop #3 on the Circle Tour I took from Rejkjavik. Stop #3 was possibly the main reason I signed up for the tour, I think, as it was a visit to one of the most famous spots in Iceland, the Gullfoss waterfall. The tour brochures described how in sunny weather you can get multiple rainbow effects off the water.
Now that would be something to see, eh?
Of course, as you may recall from previous posts about the Golden Circle Tour, at its best the weather on the day I took the tour could merely be described as not raining. So, it wasn’t raining when we got to Gullfoss, which was good, as it allowed me time to stand in various spots and take a few photos. As with all my other photos from Iceland, I have tinkered in the digital darkroom to make the photos seem a little less grey, and the lights and darks a little more interesting.
In person the scene here didn’t look nearly as good as the photos depict. But even with the non-optimal light and weather that day, I’d have to say that the Gullfoss waterfall was my favorite spot on Circle Tour.
Enjoy.
These pictures are all so grand that I can’t decide which one I like best!
