Scene from the side

The classic Tübingen “postcard shot” shows the cute, colorful, medieval buildings along the Neckar River, topped by the steeple of the big Evangelical church above them, and ending with a peek at the yellow Hölderlin Tower building.  It’s usually pretty colorful, which is why this view today is striking: the overwhelming color I get from looking over at the buildings is unexpectedly white, not those brilliant pastel tones.

What actually stopped me at this moment on the bridge and made me pull out my camera was spotting that super clear reflection of the tree over on the left,. Plus, I love how the buildings on the right are reflected at an angle that’s almost vertical down into the water, and not stretched out across the water.

Plus, there is that whitewashed tone to everything – it was an oddly cloudy, and yet somewhat sunny day, so I guess the light just played with all the colors somehow.

It’s the postcard shot scene, seen from another angle.

I like it. 😉
