From another angle

You’re used to seeing the cathedral and the buildings in Tübingen taken looking north from a vantage point south of the town, since that’s where I most often take photos. But what if I were to walk up the hill closest to town and take a photo or two there instead?

Glad you asked.

Well, to be honest I did this once before, over a year ago when we walked up to a spot that offered a full panoramic view of town. I don’t do it that often – it’s not on my usual path to wander around town. However, Chris and I took advantage of a slight break in the weather yesterday and walked up the hill to see what we could see looking south back toward the city from there.

The hill we strolled up is not a large hill, but it is high enough that you can see over the rooftops back toward the center of town. While not a full panorama, it offers you a different perspective on the buildings and roofs in the historic old part of Tübingen.

Plus, I think the castle looks more castle-like to me from that angle. Even a castle can seem more photogenic, I guess, if viewed from its “best side”.  😉
