Today I offer another set of photos in my ongoing homage to Imogen Cunningham. I’m definitely pursing the leaf, light and shadow theme in a slightly different direction from Cunningham’s work, but it’s fun seeing what I notice as inspiration during the brief bouts of sunlight that appear and disappear on the days I go out to take this kind of photo.
There are definitely things that fall under the Murphy’s laws of photography, BTW. One of them is that the moment you go to take a nice leaf and shadow photo, the sun disappears, and all you’re left with the leaf. Ah well.
In any case, here are my latest experiments. Enjoy.
I liked picture number #2 the best and specifically, I liked the darkened section of the leaf with the striking vein pattern. In fact, I would like to see an entire dark leaf with its entire leaf pattern. I think that would be great!
