Sun(glasses) and Shadow

After saying I hardly ever take photos of faces in inanimate places anymore, I just realized I actually did take another one recently. It was taken while I was trying for those attempts at more seriously artsy light and shadow patterns in leaves, in my first attempts at the homage to Imogen Cunningham.  But in general that afternoon I was just looking for interesting patterns involving sun, leaves and shadows.

So, finding the following photo could be seen as a symbolic bridging from my old themes/photographic styles to my new “artsy” endeavors. Perhaps today’s photo could be viewed as representative of a figurative changing of styles, with the plant figure seeming to point the way toward new artistic horizons.

Right.

Or, it could just be a fun, goofy photo of a face in a plant.

Well, at least I see a face wearing dark-color glasses in the top leaf of that plant. With its left hand — er, leaf — the plant also seems to be showing off its little unexpected ornament, while directing me to look left.

Make of it what you will … and enjoy.

BTW, a quick follow-up and thank you to everyone who sent feedback on my little Heron fable. I’m going to go ahead and lift the “embargo” and make it public next week. If you haven’t had a chance to download your free copy yet, click here. Next week the price goes up… 🙂

Anyway, thanks again!
