Here I’ve dropped the color on that first photo, and cropped it – and flipped it – yet again. I’ve also tweaked the contrast between the lights and darks to show that what looks like the edge of the left on the right is actually caused by the shadow of the leave above. By making the shadow a bit less black, you can clearly see the veins in the leaf below coming through the shadow. It’s the kind of thing that Chris and I noticed when we saw the original print of Cunningham’s work at the show. Well, generally the same kind of thing. Not yet in the same class as her works, but I was pleased at least to have gotten anything even near the ballpark on this first attempt at this genre. 🙂
