Although I regreted when I saw the photo later that I hadn’t thought to move that piece of paper, Chris suggested that perhaps cropped like this (or one of the following variations) worked to make the paper an integral part of the image. There’s a nice reflection of the tree in the original photo further to the left, that didn’t work well on its own, even thought that’s what I was focused on (as it were) when I took the photo.
