North Bay Reflections, Scarborough

I have a few last photos from Scarborough with which to finish off my posts from that town.  And there’s no better way to end than with a few reflections … in the photos, that is. 😉

Enjoy.

  1. great pictures, and I am wise to you and did see they were upside down. I am going to paint some pictures of the sea and sky upside down too. I recently went to Ocean city and just observed the ocean, and of course took some really bad pictures, except to me as studies they were amazing. I like the turning of the picture. Kind of makes what people think of abstractions, is actually reality. Something I have been saying for a long time- Practical realism, an artists point of view. Not consensual.

  2. I didn’t realize how many different pictures you could take of a castle in a puddle. However, I am a traditionalist and I liked the first picture best because you got a dramatic picture of the cliffside going up to the castle. On the other hand, I liked your first picture of sea and sky best even though it was upside down. It still grabbed me more than the others.

  3. Thanks for the feedback!
@Kathy – your own photos could be better than you realize – do you tweak them at all on the computer? I like the description “practical realism, an artist’s point of view”. That would seem to apply to a lot of my “upside down” ones.
@Stan – I think you’re just a traditionalist for some things, if you like the upside down sea and sky one best when it’s upside down. Funny, I go back and forth for that set which one I like best – originaly, I also picked “sea and sky #1”, then yesterday when I wrote the post I had a preference for it not upside down. Today, I think I like both of the equally, since they are so different. I was definitely struck at the time when I saw the scene in person by the potential to “flip” that one around. 🙂
