As I have mentioned, we were fortunate to have some ideal weather in Scarborough. We spent 3 relaxing days there, with plenty of time to take photos. When not playing miniature golf, of course.
I should also mention the food options were pretty good overall, given that it is a fairly small town. The local specialties center around fish, and in particular around fish and chips. While the style of the batter on the fish and chips there was a little thicker than what I normally like, the fish was very fresh, and very moist inside its casing of batter. We also had a tasty fish pie that had an upper “crust” made of mashedpotatoes, with hard-boiled eggs between the potatoes and the fish pieces below. Interesting.
The best meal we had, though, was at a Indian restaurant that served several specialties from Bangladesh that were unfamiliar to us, but extremely tasty. No fish was involved in what we ate, though – I remember we had one dish with Ostrich and one dish with Lamb, but I’m not sure I can describe the sauces well enough. Our B&B host had recommended that place as their favorite restaurant in Scarborough, and it was definitely the best of the 3 dinners we had.
Since we were staying on the North Bay side of Scarborough, I have many more photos from that side. Today’s set, therefore, is back on the North Bay beach, with a little more idea of what the scenes on the beach areas looked like. Plus, that side has the iconic castle ruins the tower over the beach – very photogenic.
Enjoy.
Weather report, Scarborough Fair. Oh my I just had to do it! Just when you thought all the parsley sage stuff was done too! Sorry it is genetic.
Lovely pictures of the surf.
Thanks, Kathy! Glad you enjoyed the photos. Fair enough on the rest of the comment. 😉
