Here in Germany, when the sky is a cloudless blue, it is referred to as an “Italian sky.”
When we arrived in Scarborough Saturday morning, the taxi driver said that the bright blue cloudless sky wouldn’t last, and that we should hurry and take a photo of it before it disappeared.
While we actually got pretty lucky on the entire trip to England, the taxi driver was right, and the clouds did come in, although they were puffy white clouds on Saturday, not storm clouds.
However, I had taken his advice and snapped a photo or two before the “Italian Sky” over Scarborough disappeared. Below you can see the result of stitching together 5 or 6 of those photos together to get a panoramic view of the North Bay of Scarborough. The photos were taken while standing across the street from our hotel … but our room actually had the exact same view, too. 🙂
More from England coming soon…
Lovely photo (and amazing stitching). A scene most redolent of parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme.
Great picture. I bet you didn’t use a tripod. Amazing skill at stitching no matter if you did or not
Thanks – glad you both liked the stitching!
@Will: I’m sure you can also just picture a Fair there, too, eh? 🙂
@Kathy: correct, I didn’t use a tripod, just handheld the camera and pivoted in place.
Fair enough, Linda!
😉
That is a magnificent picture. In fact it is so charming I tried to print it and guess what happened? Only one of your stitches was available for printing!
Thanks, Stan! I have sent you a private email to explain what I think happened with printing it from Safari. All of the stitches should be available to print – if you can see them, you can print them.
