Off to (Old) York

And they’re off … again. Chris is giving the closing keynote address at a conference in York, England this week, so we’re headed off on another trip. After the conference, we’ll spent a long weekend in Scarborough, a coastal town on the North Sea.

Yes, that is the town this song is about. But no, we are not going to the fair – the last one was held in 1788.

However, the views of the North Sea are still supposed to be nice; we’ll see how they compare to the ones we had last month of the Atlantic Ocean (examples below).

Regular posts on Two to Tübingen will resume September 12th. Have a good week!

  1. I liked your first, dark, picture of sun and water the best of the three. It was very nice. However, I really “warmed up” to your beach picture with the waves and the mist in the background. I am looking forward to what you “see” in England!

  2. I like your sunny pics. I was recently in Ocean City, NJ. Instead of choosing an f stop of middle to high. I kept it on 4.0. Bright just like I see it. Interesting photos. I will put them on blog soon

  3. I really liked your Morning Sun #2 for lots of reasons. Your sun was stunning, the ocean was calm, the surf was mottled and the sand was gritty. All of that made it an outstanding picture and I wanted to print it. The trouble was that it came out so dark on iphoto that I couldn’t even see the gritty sand!

  4. Thanks for the feedback – glad everyone enjoyed my exploration of some ideas for those photos!
