My parents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary earlier this month – our visit was timed to be there to participate in the celebrations. 🙂
In honor of that occasion, I wrote and produced a multimedia fairytale that touches on their lives and how their eventual meeting and marriage was predicted by a wizard. It was based on a true story. Really. You can decide for yourself which parts were the ones based on fact, though.
Since some folks who have heard about it have asked to see it, I decided to upload a version of it in case you want to check it out. I produced it originally as a computer-based slide show which you had to advance manually at the sound of “clink”. But that format produced a file too big to upload. So, I’ve made a self-running movie version that automatically advances to the next slide (the “clinks” are still there but can be ignored). The file is in a smaller size that saves much (but not all) of the original photo quality and all of the audio quality (the story is narrated as you see the photos).
Anyway, here are the links to see and hear the story:
- Love is in the Cards – Part 1 (14 minutes): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGTn3tIU1fM
- Love is in the Cards – Part 2 (3.5 minutes): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Rx5TcQz3DQ
I had to split it into two parts due to size restrictions on YouTube, which is where I decided to put it for easier playback. The links are not publicly listed on YouTube, though, so a person has to know the links to find them, although once you get to one of the parts, there’s a link to the other part in the description below the video.
The title of the fairy tale is Love is in the Cards. However, the Wizard had wanted it to be called The Wizard Knows All. He never managed to convince the script writer to use that for the fairy tale title, though. However, as a thank you to the wizard for making a special guest appearance in New Jersey to do a live reading of the story as part of my parents’ anniversary celebration, I’ve given him his wished-for title as the title of this post.
I’m sure the Golden Couple won’t mind just this once. 😉
What a wonderful imaginary story based on fact. The pictures, the music, the script make this wholesome family entertainment! Very good!
I so enjoyed watching this fairy tale!! I’m so glad that the “princess” and “wizard” are part of our lives!!
Thanks, Stan and Judie, glad you enjoyed it!
The Golden Couple doesn’t mind the title at all as without the Wiz, where would we be. Although he is a pushy prognosticator.:_)
