Just a quick post today while I cram — er, I mean, carefully review — for my test tomorrow. We have a test every 3 weeks in this intensive course cycle, so if it seems like I recently had a big test in my class, it’s because I did.
This time around, there are merely another few hundred words to master, on top of all the ones we’ve learned previously of course. Plus all the new grammar. I know, I realize that my German class as a theme has taken on a life of its own this week in the posts; some weeks just work out like that with what I write about, I guess.
BTW, I had to laugh this morning – Chris was reading an article online where a man was bragging how he could learn 100 new words in only two days. Hmph. I can top that – I think we might just learn 100 words every 2 days in this class. OK, so maybe that’s a wee little bit of an exaggeration. But not much. 😉 The same man also said he could master a language in a weekend. Which is two days. Hmm. I really don’t thinking knowing 100 words counts as mastering a language, so call me skeptical about his language abilities.
Anyway, thanks again for the comments on the recent photos and the German. I’m not adding anything in German to this post today, although I am going to try to challenge myself to add German to the posts regularly in the future (thanks, Ashley and Sevindzh for your comments to encourage me!) I’ll try respond to all the rest of the comments from this week in my post tomorrow. At least that’s the plan. 😉
BTW, as part of my studying — which I will be returning to as soon as I post this — I’m trying to get in touch with my inner actress. As a kid I used to act in plays and memorize lines. For the test tomorrow we have to memorize the “scripts” for several formulaic types of letters and discussions. It’s not exactly Shakespeare, but still … a script by any other name, right?
Ah well, gotta get back to those irregular verbs and the proper closing line of an application letter. However, instead of ending the post with that sentence, and apropos of actually nothing except the theme of “time” for this post, we’ll end with a photo of a modern sundial. It is on the front of a business here in Tübingen, and I like how the sundial is incorporated into the mural next to it. Enjoy – see you tomorrow!

Good luck tomorrow. You are speaking and writing German now so we would say you have learned the language.
You also were a musical director in your “youth” so any musical questions tomorrow? 🙂
The sundial is interesting. I would like to have it in our tour of Tubingen in May. I also like the fact you can work in a picture or two on even the busiest of “learning” days.
Luck on the test, but you don’t need it. I love your ability to master 100 new words in nay language in 2 days. I might try to do that with English! Nice mural. I wonder if the mural was done by grafitti artists. they are everywhere and some are very good and collectable, so pictures of them would be too.
