Well, not “final photos” forever, of course, but rather for the season. You see, they turned off the water in all the fountains around here last week, and it’s not quite as exciting to take photos of dry fountains. But luckily, just before that happened, I finally got some nighttime photos of one of the big fountains in front of a university building here in Tübingen.
Here’s a look at the full fountain:
A couple of artsy-attempts at the water streaming down:
A look at the water in the bowl:
And finally a little bit of an illusion: the wind occasionally disturbed the water streaming down; as caught in the following image, it looks like it’s the lamppost which has “cut into’ the water stream, pushing it to one side:
Fun.
So, while my promised furniture photos are still forthcoming, having fountain photos on a Friday at least gave me an alliterative topic for today.
Enjoy. 😉
I do like enlarging your photos to really get the “feel” of the picture. At first, my favorite picture was the traditional one at the beginning. I particularly liked the “sheets” of water portrayed on the top two levels of the fountain. However, when I looked at detail #2, I was struck in a “visceral” way by water coming down in a torrent, splashing in the water below and discovering the circle of splash that it created. I could almost feel getting wet as I looked at it.
These are great – my favorite is the second photo.
I guess I’ll be in the first to Like this post – hope that’s not uncool :-).
